Ways to Give

From Big Data applications and data analytics that advance our financial, retail and commercial enterprises’ competitive strength to the Charlotte Teachers Institute, which is reinventing learning and success in our public schools, UNC Charlotte engages in a vast array of programs that provide educational opportunities for our students and transform our region. Your donation to UNC Charlotte makes these – and many other programs – meaningful and impactful.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts

A memorial or tribute gift is a thoughtful way to remember a loved one, commemorate a special occasion or honor a person’s life and accomplishments. Your gift to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte made in honor or memory of this special person extends the impact of their legacy.

Please mention the name of the person you are honoring with your gift. If you would like UNC Charlotte to notify the honoree or a family member, please also indicate the name and address of the individual to be notified.

Memorial Benches and Trees

Please contact Alyssa Kasko (704-687-5827) if you are interested in any of the following options for honoring your loved ones. Our Donor Relations team will work with you and our landscape architect to ensure a special place on campus to place a memorial bench or tree.

Endowments

Gifts made to create an endowed fund are invested for perpetuity. A portion of the earned income is then used to support the fund’s purpose. Any excess earnings are reinvested, allowing the fund to grow. Endowments may be created for student scholarships and fellowships, faculty chairs and professorships, or many other purposes.

It is important to create a formal gift agreement to establish an endowment. Our Senior Director of Development, Mark Colone (704-687-5526), can help you establish an endowment and answer any questions you have.

Planned Giving

Contact our Senior Director of Principal and Planned Gifts, Amy Shehee (704-687-0301), for more information on estate, life income, securities, real estate, IRA rollovers or in-kind gifts.
