Brand

Introduction:

In an effort to keep up with design trends and available technology, University Communications has made updates to the brand standards, including the current Website Conventions and Style Guide. The primary updates center around the introduction of a new theme for University websites, an expansion of the University color palette, and expanded information about email platforms, including guidelines for using EduConverse.

Highlights Include:

  • The creation of an additional web theme, called “Theme 3” for the University’s centrally-supported Drupal offering, brings large, bold fonts and an expansive, coast-to-coast front page image which increases the opportunity for sites to showcase large-format photos and graphics. Theme 3 was made available to site managers who manage division and departmental websites starting in October 2016.
  • Based on recommendations of communicators from across campus, new colors were added to the approved color palette to provide more options for all web and print projects. In addition to new colors, select web-safe and print colors have been refreshed to produce a richer experience for end users.
  • In an effort to help end users understand the options available to them for emailing internal and external constituencies, sections for “University-supported Email Options” and “Guidelines for EduConverse” have been added to the Web Style Guide. These two sections can be found under the Technical Specifications heading.
